Eagles - Weston Tournament

The Plantation Eagles U9 - U12 teams had a very succesful weekend at the 2008 Weston Invitational with four Plantation teams reaching the finals and two teams reaching the semi-finals.  The U10 boys were able to bring home a championship. 

U10 Boys

One of the top tournaments in S. Florida, and the Plantation Eagles U10 boys had their eyes set on the Championship. The Plantation Eagles dominated their bracket by winning all three games and outscoring their opponents 20 - 1. The next step was the semi-final game which would prove to be one of the most challenging of the tournament. The Eagles faced a tough, determined team from North Miami Maccabi. After 50 exhausting and exhilarating minutes, the result was a 1-0 victory.

The Championship game matched the Eagles against the Pinecrest Premier Panthers.

The game drew many spectators on a hot and humid President’s Day afternoon. Both teams fought hard to get to this point; there would be no loser today. For the first 10 minutes of the game, the crowd sensed a shootout. Pinecrest struck first and kept the pressure on to take a 4-2 lead; by the half the Eagles came back and the score was 4-3. The defense came out to play in the second half until the Eagles scored to tie the game at 4-4. The teams battled back and forth with great saves and play from both team. The Eagles scored the go ahead goal with 3 minutes left to play and held on for the Championship 5-4.

The talented Eagle team consisted of Ethan Elalouf, Paul Calabrese, Nicholas Wall, Jorge Freay, Joshua Sanchez, Brent Finkel, Will Lore, Travis Brumfield, Justin Falcon, David Sanchez, Nicholas Hinds and Miguel Perez.
